I am...my best friend is there. He and his family are fine, but the coastly areas, he's telling me, are basically indescribable. Apparently they're non-existent. What if you're one of the 1% from the northern area who survives...an 80 yr old woman whose ENTIRE life has been washed away? Everything you've ever known-GONE. My heart bleeds for those people!
'pray for' is essentially another way of saying 'have compassion for' it's not a bad thing to actually think about what has happened and then to donate instead of just mindlessly throwing money around. yeah just thinking about things gets us nowhere, but this deviation is helping to raise awareness, which in turn, raises money from an increased amount of donations.
and at times like these, low morale is a massive problem, too. so yeah, 'get well cards' can also be a positive contribution. people who want to help will help in any way that they can. any help is good help.
beautiful... the expression is... well, no words work for it, do they? and the almost aggressive japanese flag symbol is so... in-your-face that it overlaps with the intensity of the tsunami/earthquake.
btw i'm glad you are ok. are your family and friends safe?
